Google News: Technical Requirements for Publishers
In order to enable Google News to correctly include your content in its index you will have to meet the following technical requirements:
- Article URLs should be unique, permanent and include at least three digits that don't resemble a year. If you prefer, you can use News Sitemaps to submit articles with URLs that doesn't contain at least three digits.
- The URLs aren't blocked by a robots protocol rule or by a firewall rule, and your website's network is reachable by Googlebot
- Your article's URL returns a good HTTP status code. For example, if it returns a '404', Google will ignore the article
- Your articles should contain text, rendered in HTML, in order for us to be able to understand your content properly.
- The titles of your articles on individual article pages should not be linked
- The date stamps should be in the YYYY-MM-DD format to ensure the publishing date is recognized properly.
